ActiveImage Protector Basic License Rule

Server

Server license
1 license is required to back up 1 physical server (Windows) .
  • 1 license of ActiveImage Protector 2022 Virtual is required to back up 1 virtual host (Hyper-V).

Desktop

Desktop license
1 license is required to back up 1 desktop PC (Windows).

Linux

Linux license
1 license is required to back up 1 physical server (Linux) .
  • 1 license of ActiveImage Protector 2022 Virtual is required to back up 1 virtual host  (Linux KVM)

Virtual

Virtual license
1 licensed copy of ActiveImage Protector Virtual can be applied to one hypervisor host.
There are no restrictions on the number of Windows / Linux virtual machines running on a single licensed hypervisor host.
  • On HCI environments, ActiveImage Protector 2022 Virtual licenses are required on all configured hypervisors.

Server vPack

Server vPack license
1 license is required to back up a maximum of 5 Windows / Linux virtual machines with no restrictions on the type of hypervisor.

Cloud

Cloud license
1 license is required to back up a maximum of 5 Windows / Linux virtual machines running on public cloud environment (AWS / Azure/ GCP / OCI).

Cluster

Cluster license
1 license is required to back up one cluster physical machine, configured with 2 nodes.
When one cluster group is configured with 3 or more nodes, 2+n additional node licenses are required.
  • When performing backup by virtual machine on a Hyper-V cluster environment, ActiveImage Protector 2022 Virtual licenses are required for each cluster node.

IT Pro

IT Pro license
1 license per IT Professional allows for use on an unlimited number of machines for one year.
Installation to the backup source is not allowed.
